How to make more impact with RICE

R.I.C.E is a prioritisation framework that helps you pick tasks that will move the needle the most towards your current most important goal and strategy. For each task score it against the criteria below:

R → Reach

This is a measure of how many people will be affected by the task. The more people the better as the same effort will scale across more users.

I → Impact

How much impact will this task have on those users? The greater the impact the greater the more strategic the task is.

C → Confidence

How much confidence do you have in these metrics for this task? Score from 0 to 100%.

E → Effort

How much effort will it take to see the task through. This is measured in time, the exact unit is less important than using the same unit for all measurements.

Getting a score

To calculate a score for each task multiple R x I x C and divide it by E.

Selecting the task with the highest score will give you a task that has the largest surface area, you are confident it will work, and does not take too long.
